Game Recap

Oberlin 40, Lutheran West 27

A slow start by the Phoenix was not enough to douse their fire, as Oberlin overcame a 14-0 deficit to top the host Longhorns and improve to 3-5 on the season. After falling behind on a 37-yard punt return by Jeremy Geye and a 54-yard pass from Rory Zakareckis to Shawn Naim, Oberlin used its dual-threat quarterback Devan Yarber to take over the game. Yarber was 5-for-15 for 131 yards and two touchdowns, adding 36 carries for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns, to help bring the Phoenix back for a conference victory. Also scoring for Oberlin was Jeremy Austin on a fumble recovery, Aaron Arnold on a pair of receptions and Ravon Eisom on a 44-yard run.
